I frequently feel like I’m a day late to the party. There have been so many awesome sew-alongs, meet-ups, and what-have-you that I just don’t have my act together in time to participate.
Let me name just a few….
- Ruby Slip Sew Along
- Tilly’s OWOP
- Mad Men Challenge with Julia Bobbin
- Pajama Party (still going on, but I’ve already given up hope of participating)
- Self-Stitched September (yes from last year…)
- Lladybird’s Agatha knit-along
But… I’m telling myself that this May will be different!
It’s been quite a while since I’ve participated in an online sewing thingy besides Sew Weekly. I’m vowing that time doesn’t get best of me and I’m totally doing this one!
I, Zilredloh, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’12. I endeavour to wear at least one garment that I’ve either made or refashioned each day for the duration of May 2012.
This is going to be my first every challenge to wear one item a day, for an entire month. During the work-week, it shouldn’t be terribly hard or at least I hope it won’t be (since I haven’t actually looked in my closet to take a tally of all of my projects.) But during the weekend I frequently lounge around the house in yoga pants and t-shirts while I’m sewing. I have yet to sew myself anything in a knit-fabric, so I fear the weekends will be my biggest challenge. I’m now majorly pondering sewing up a Renfrew or five for May. heh
I’ve never done any refashioning and I hope to be able to incorporate one or two in the month of May, but I’m also including my hand knits in the mix along with my sewn garments. I’ve found myself wearing fewer of my knits than I’d like and I really want to incorporate them again into my daily wardrobe.
I’ll be taking a quick picture each day at a different point of my daily commute so you guys will all see me as I traverse in my work clothes each day for a month. I haven’t decided if I’m going to make one post a day or just one post a week with all of my outfits. I’ll probably just wing it. :)
Wish me luck! And who’s joining in the fun with me?
