Friends, I’m on a roll with knitting! I’ve been sick for a week and it was the only thing I could manage to do. While I’m feeling a bit better, I still can’t manage to stop.
My 9-5 day job has utterly drained me of all of my creative energy as of late, which is such a shame (but it’s most likely how I got sick in the first place). For my sewing projects, I literally only have to sew my coat hem and attach 1 button and I haven’t even have the energy to do that.
I spent my entire weekend/week plopped in front of our tv watching old movies and knitting. It’s been both bad and wonderful at the same time; bad since I’m not moving about but great since I’ve gotten so much knitting done.
I’ve knocked out 2 knitting projects off my list and I’ve started in on the third:
Green Bobble Jumper: CompletedAccessory for your Spring Suit Jumper:Newly CompletedAqua Waves Jumper:Newly Completed- Sun Ray Ribbed Jumper: In Progress
- Basque Cardigan
- Cropped Swing Jacket
The bottom aqua jumper is the Aqua Waves, and the grey one on the top is my Accessory for your Spring Suit which I managed to finish up as of late.
I’m currently working on the Sun-Ray Ribbed Jumper (first image at the top of the post). I ended up knitting from just above the bottom ribbing all the way up to the armpits and I’m now working on one of the sleeves! It’s really crazy how much I’ve gotten done, but I’ve been sick with nothing else to do.
With how draining my work is at the moment, it’s nice to come home and do a bit of lounging & relaxing while keeping my hands busy with making things.
Is anyone else in a knitting frenzy at the moment???

Love to see you wearing those jumpers!
Unfortunately I’m really slowing down with knitting lately, because of some issues with my shoulder and neck.
Feel better soon, Liz! I’m not in a knitting frenzy right now (though I totally understand what that is!). I’m more in a tailoring frenzy, if you know what I mean…
Hope you’re feeling better! I desperately want to see more of that aqua waves jumper, that neckline looks like perfection!
I was busy preparing for my family’s visit (and then with them), so I really haven’t done any knitting or sewing in a week. A few rows of knitting with my mom in town on my elbow-length vintage gloves, but I feel kind of meh about them… most likely as we’re on this side of winter so I’m pretty meh about anything cold-related right now. lol
Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling poorly. I’m also in a knitting frenzy and also because of poor health. I haven’t been able to sew much because of a flare up from a long term health condition, but I have been able to knit. I have been thoroughly enjoying being curled up on the sofa with a blanket, endless cups of tea and my knitting. Look forward to seeing your finished projects in action :-)
:-( Stupid energy-eating, time-sucking day jobs… Hopefully this bit of R&R has you back on the mend. I’m super excited to see your posts on both these sweaters! I’m between sweater projects temporarily. It’s a strange and unfamiliar place for me. :-D I think I might be ready to follow your shining example and finish a couple of UFOs that have been taking up space.
I’m sorry you’ve not been feeling well! I tend to also knit constantly when I’m sick. The problem is you forget to relax! I must get back doing my accessory for your spring suit too. I left it aside for much too long!
I had three extra days off for Easter so I’ve been sewing and knitting like crazy. Hope you feel better soon! Can’t wait to see you new knitwear on you once you’re feeling better!
Man, I’m sorry you’ve been feeling meh. Hope that work calms down and that you feel better soon. At least you’ve got some beautiful new hand-knits to cheer you up! You’ve reminded me that I need to get back to knitting! I’ve got a sweater that’s just missing a sleeve and a half and some i-cord edging. I started it a year ago– eek!
Get well soon! I`m knitting away on the Krista Tee by White Lies Designs. My last wool project until fall!
That’s a lovely spring/summer knit. What color are you knitting it in? And btw, this looks so YOU! :)
What a gorgeous bunch of jumpers, they look lovely. Sorry you haven’t been well but you have made amazing progress. I think knitting whilst watching old films is one of the nicest things. I have just finished a lacey 1950s top and am on the rib of a 1950s evening top.
It’s too bad you’re feeling so poorly – but kudos on getting so much knitting done! I have a sweater I’m making for my boyfriend, but it’s a rather smaller gauge than I’m used to, and it’s feeling like it’s taking FOREVER to get anywhere on it :/ But his birthday is coming up, so I better get knitting!
Get well soon! (and I can’t wait to see the finished Gertie coat!)
I’m so sorry you’ve been sick and worn out by work. I hope all that gets easier soon. You’re so awesome to be so productive, though! Those sweaters look beautiful and I’d love to see more of the aqua waves especially.
Your jumpers look fantastic! Sorry you weren’t feeling well, but that it some amazing productivity! I usually can’t even knit when I feel too drained, but it always makes life better when you’re able to do something creative while on the mend! Can’t wait to see your Aqua Waves in action — it’s one of the cutest patterns you’ve ever posted!
Thanks so much Meredith! I can’t wait to wear it out and about since I’ve also made the perfect skirt to pair with it… just need the weather to warm up a bit for me to go outside in it.
Feel better soon! I’m in the same situation as you. I am worn out by work and knitting is my comfort. I’m sending refreshment vibes your way, heh :)
