Back in December I tried to post up this coral cardigan pattern for you all but the pdf came out too blury to read easily. So I’m giving it another go for you all since it’s such a cute pattern.

I think all of the design elements on this cardigan/jacket are just lovely. As you know I’m on a coral kick lately and would love to knit up something in just this shade (and I can wear it in my new coral sewing room hehehe). I think the yoke detailing is reminiscent of an ikat design and I love the bow closures at the neckline and especially at the waist.
To keep the yoke closed (in addition to the top-most bow) this pattern calls for 4 snaps to be sewn into the yoke.
Like most patterns of this era, the pattern calls for a fingering weight yarn with a gauge of 7.5 sts per inch with us size 2 or 3 needles, depending on your personal gauge of course.
I think this would be a perfect pattern for a knitter who’s looking to delve into color work. Since the color work is only at the yoke sections on the front and back you have the whole bottom half of the cardigan to pump yourself up. :) Plus it’s only one additional color to contend with instead of several colors like a traditional fair isle would be.
I should state, that I’ve only knitted up one pattern in fair isle myself and it has actually been sitting, half-finished, on my shelf for a year now. I’ve learnt so much with Tasha’s Vintage Knitting College that I doubt I’d pick it up again since I now realized I had made a few mistakes along the way I didn’t know about before.
So I actually love this pattern since it would be a good intro for myself to try to start color work. :)
