Week 3: Recap of Me Made May

Hey everyone!  I’ve been busy stitching away on my embroidery project and finished in just enough time to submit it to Sew Weekly.  Here’s a little sneak peek for you all:

This is the back of my belt.  :)

I fell a bit off of MMM this past week.  During the week I was fine, but as I anticipated the weekends were challenging.  What really made it worse is that I was dealing with 90 degree weather without air conditioning.  There was no article of clothing I’ve made that would have made the heat bearable.  To survive I wore… boxer shorts *shudder*.  I never wear shorts!  Plus I actually didn’t leave the house at all on Saturday-Monday.  I’ve been a home-body working on my 40’s dress for the Sew Weekly Challenge among other things.

So not leaving the house (and getting properly dressed) plus the 90 degree weather held me back from doing the challenge over the weekend.  But I’m looking forward to setting things right for next weekend and have a recap for the days last week that I did make it through.

Day 14:

Dubarry 5836 Linen Skirt paired with my Briar Rose knitted top.

Day 15:

I’m wearing my white Violet blouse paired with my Nautical 1/2 circle skirt with the elastic waistband.

Day 16:

I’m wearing my Minoru Jacket today since it was a bit chilly.

I had a meeting in the morning and left separate from Felix so I don’t have a picture from my morning commute.  Instead this image was taken downtown as we’re walking to the blue line after work.

Day 17:

I’m sneaking this pic of me in the subway.  I’m technically not allowed to take any photos on the train, but I’m being sneaky for you all.  I’m wearing my newly refashioned polka dot dress with a little cropped cardigan that paired together quite nicely to show off the bow belt.

Day 18:

This is an unblogged skirt.  This was my first time testing out the Linda skirt from BurdaStyle.  I made it in a charcoal double knit with an encased elastic waistband.  This is the skirt that gave me the idea of using the elastic waistband for my nautical skirt (from day 15).

I’m ultra casual today in my t-shirt, flip-flops, and pony tail since I was out for a walk in the early evening and just came back from a visit to the wine store.  (I had off work due to the Nato conference.  YAY!  So I didn’t wear any work gear nor do I have the standard commute picture to show you.)

Day 19:

Sooo hot.  Fail.  :(

Day 20:

Kinda Fail.  :(  I wore a house dress that I slightly altered but didn’t take any pics.  And still really hot!

Day 21:

See the sneak peek embroidery image above.  I can’t share the Sew Weekly project yet, but that’s what I wore for part of the day today.

All in all, this week was tough since I missed so many days.  I’m looking forward to getting back on track this coming week.  Also… you’re going to be seeing more pics from downtown since that’s the last leg of my commute.  :)

What’s funny/scary is that I’m completely sharing my daily routine would would be a stalkers dream.  Let’s hope I don’t have any out there….

I never thought about MMM and stalkers. Tee hee!

Your outfits are always so put-together and cute. I love the Briar Rose with the linen skirt, and the refashioned polka dot dress. And your Minoru jacket never ceases to amaze me!

You Nautical 1/2 circle skirt wins the week for me! It’s great! I love it with the casual denim! Don’t beat yourself up for missing out a day or two, no-one minds! :)

  7. Love the Briar Rose top! Why no pics on the train? The CTA says it’s okay for normal peeps to take pics. (I do all the time, esp of weird ads and graffiti, so I just had to look it up when I saw your comment.)
