Happy Holidays!

I meant to continue to post over this past week but as you can imagine, I got busy doing ‘this’ and ‘that’ and won’t be back until after Christmas.

I just wanted to put up a quick note and let you know that I hope you all have a lovely holiday and are cozying up with hot chocolate and loved ones at this very minute, or will be soon.

I’ll leave you with a few images of holidays’ past:

I’ve been working on the Granny sweater and I thought I’d clear up a little confusion about the odd “cross-over” lattice work at the yoke…the set up row for the lattice is…K1, YO x3, repeat across row..turn work. Next row, slip one, drop the 3 YOs, leaving a loooong stitch on the right hand needle. Repeat this until you have 6 of these on the R needle. Then place the tip of the Left needle under the first three long stitches and slip them over the next 3…this is the “cross over” effect. The tricky part is….all 6 of these stitches go BACK onto the LEFT needle. They are still live stitches, you see, and must now be knit off onto the right needle. Then the whole process begins again for the next crossover.
In other words, each unit must be slipped, then crossed over, then knit. Rinse, repeat.
I am telling you this to spare you the weeping, wailing and tooth gnashing figuring out my sample square.
Also, Granny must be wearing a chemise under her sweater, cause it’s rather breezy, that pattern.
