Hey guys! As I was picking out what clothes I was going to wear yesterday morning, I was growing steadily nervous. Isn’t that silly?! I frequently wear clothes that I’ve made, but I feel like I had to make my outfit extra special since I was going to blog about it and put it on the webs.
With all of my finished-object posts, I try to show the nicest, most attractive images on my blog and I feel a strange pressure to maintain that same quality for Me Made May. This contradicts my ‘MMM’ goal of taking snapshots of me in my clothes during my daily commute, with no frills attached. Zilredloh-in the raw, kinda.
Sticking to my plan here’s my first outfit photo, with one of the least attractive angles for my face. heh
I live on the upper floor of my apartment complex so the first part of my commute is simply walking down 3 flights of stairs.
This is a skirt that I’ve never blogged about, the Judy Skirt via BurdaStyle. It’s a burgundy wool skirt (same fabric as my godet pencil skirt), and the pleats are edged in a grey chiffon. I made this skirt late fall in 2010, before I started blogging, and was probably the 4th project I ever made.
Moving forward, I intend to post up a picture each day, but they won’t be in your face since I intend to keep blogging like normal throughout the month. I may do a recap at the end of each week on the main page though… I’m also going to create a bar at the top showing each of my daily outfits along with the outfit details so you can always find the images if you want to see what I’m up to.
Happy May-day everyone.

I think that skirt is adorable! It looks so nice with the gray top!
It’s lovely! I like how the slight extra length and muted tones of your version (as opposed to the Burda version) makes it so much more “grown up”.
this looks great Liz
This outfit is gorgeous! Love that skirt! I’m really excited to see your MMM posts!
That skirt is fantastic!! And I don’t think your face has a bad angle ;)
What an awesome skirt Liz, it’s absolutely lovely!!! I’ve put the pattern on my wishlist already ;o)
That’s a great skirt! All that detail… I’m in awe!
The fourth project you ever made? It looks so impressive though! :O
Cute skirt!! It’s fun to see how people incorporate their garments into practical everyday outfits. I look forward to the rest of your MMM posts.
Hi Liz, I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. You needn’t participate if it’s not your thing ( I even modified the requirements lol) but I just wanted to let you know. Details on my blog, just click on my name. You already have it, but you were on my list before I saw you had been nominated, so I thought what the hell. Doesn’t do know harm to get a plethora of nominations. At least you won’t have to go through all the requirements again.
Thanks Ms. Sassy T. :) I’m going to update my blog post to include your name as an award-giver. Thanks again so much!
I still need to find a way to incorporate the blog awards onto my side-bar or footer…
Don’t you have an widget where you can incorporate a pic. That’s all I done : )
Oh that looks like a lovely skirt. :D
Your skirt is so lovely! I love the combination of the burgundy wool and the grey chiffon – it’s such a fabulous piece!
