I’m totally starting to feel the holiday rush and it’s only December 4th. I’m not sure how it happened, but I feel like I’m all in a tizzy to get my Christmas shopping done (or started is more like it) and plan out my holiday baking.
I consider myself super-duper lucky to have a paid vacation between Christmas and New Years which enables me to get some random projects done like the painting & reorganizing my sewing room that I managed last year. But even with this large chunk of time, I’m still feeling like I have so much to squeeze in with making Christmas gifts, starting to sew for the cruise in January, and just regular holiday stuff.
With feeling like I’m starting to get sucked into the whirlwind, I still want to be able to relax and spend some quality time with friends and family. Ya know?!
As I mentioned in Monday’s Project CPR post, I have a tendency to run “full-steam ahead” instead of slowing down to take a step back and refocus. Sure I do relax and re-focus every now and then (heh), but I always have so much I want to do (and get done) that I keep working forwards. My blog’s theme really fits me well: So many projects, so little time.
While I’ve decided to launch Project CPR to help myself, I’m hoping that it will help you too if you’re anything like me. We can spend less time completing the projects we already started instead of starting something new, which would take a significantly longer amount of time to finish. That way in the end, you and I will have more finished and will have spend less time doing so!
Coming back to the real issue, I want to feel like I’ve accomplished just a bit more over the year and for me I think that means finishing some of the projects I started. But doing so in minimal amount of time will give me MORE time for what really matters: hanging out with my husband decorating our Christmas tree, going to all of the family homes to celebrate and attending friends’ Christmas parties and baking some goodies at each turn — All while NOT stressing-rushing- or feeling like I should be home getting things done.
Wish me luck, and do you guys have some thoughts as to what you’re thinking about completing for Project CPR? I’m thinking about focusing on seaming one of my hand knit sweaters, but I’m not 100% yet.
